(Yame, Japan) This lightly oxidized green oolong from our Yame garden is handcrafted experimentally. Made from first spring harvest buds, it was produced from the rare Koushun cultivar, originally developed in Shizuoka in 2000.
When brewed, it opens with a fragrance of lilac and citrus, then evolves into notes of umami, vanilla, cane sugar, grape, and a hint of spice reminiscent of nutmeg. It offers a beautiful balance of complex and gourmet notes with a creamy and sweet mouthfeel in the finish. A very original grand cru!
