(Ureshino, Japan) This Kabusecha from Ureshino, Saga Prefecture, is made from the very rare and unregistered cultivar coded Z1; a selection of the best tea bushes evolved over several generations from the Kamamidori cultivar. This tea comes from the first harvest of spring. Its leaves were fermented directly on the tree for 10 days before picking using a unique shading technique, giving it complex and rich notes.
It offers notes of sweet corn, ripe exotic fruits, and a buttery umami; leaving a pleasant soft, fresh, smooth, and creamy sensation in the mouth. A grand cru!
