Kabusecha from Hoshino | Cultivar Meiryoku [Reserve Grade]

$8.70

Origin: Hoshino, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan

Grade: Reserve, 1st spring harvest

Cultivar: Meiryoku

Production: Eco-responsible product from healthy and natural farming without chemicals, without pesticide use and produced fairly according to the international standards of "Rainforest Alliance" and "Ethical Tea Partnership".

Our Yame tea garden has received numerous global awards for the excellence of its products for years, and is ISO 22000 and JAS certified.

This "reserve" grade Kabusecha is from the first spring harvest, produced by hand in limited quantities on the mountaintops of Hoshino village. It was made from the very rare Meiryoku cultivar, developed to offer rich and umami notes - perfect for the production of sencha and shaded teas like Kabusecha.

On the palate, this atypical Kabusecha offers incomparable rich and gourmand notes of umami, cream, corn, ripe exotic fruits and a vegetal hint of artichoke. It leaves a sweet and satisfying finish. A grand cru!
