Descended from tea trees of the Song Dynasty, this Dan Cong tea is made from centenary wild tea trees from Wudong village, at an altitude of over 1400m. Aged by the producer since 2014, it is a rare grand cru that some consider to be the best tea from Phoenix Mountain.
When steeped, its amber liquor offers a bouquet that opens with fresh and gourmet notes of ripe fruit, honey, muscat, and orchid flower, followed by malt, nuts, mineral, vanilla, and spices. It is an incomparable tea, at once complex, evolving, and harmonious.
