Sassafras albidum - Lauraceae - A shrub native to North America, it is part of traditional "Root Beer" recipes for detoxification. Very distinctive flavor. Pleasantly flavors kombuchas or other fermented and sweetened beverages.
Do not confuse the whole root (unextracted) with sassafras essential oil, which should not be consumed. The root is safe in therapeutic dosages.

Preparation:
As a single herb: 1 teaspoon per cup of water, simmer in a saucepan for 20 minutes, let cool covered, drink. 1-2 cups per day or as recommended by your therapist.
