黄山毛峰 – (Anhui, China) In Chinese, its name means "Downy Peak of the Yellow Mountain". Cultivated at over 800m altitude, this high mountain green tea is one of the most renowned in China. This reserve grade tea comes from the 1st spring harvest, known as imperial plucking (downy bud + 1 leaf). The leaves, which have been pan-fired in a wok in an artisanal manner and then folded into fine strips, give it an exceptional taste and quality.
It is one of the most complex teas in terms of taste and aromas. Fruity notes reminiscent of peach, coconut, baked fava bean, a touch of umami and roastiness, then a fresh and sweet floral finish with a very good length on the palate.
