Origin: Ise, Mie Prefecture, Japan
Grade: Imperial, 1st spring harvest
Cultivar: Yabukita
Shaded teas from the Mie region are recognized throughout Japan as among the best. This tea, from which only the tenderest buds are picked, comes from the first spring harvest. Its leaves were fermented directly on the tree for 20 days before harvesting using a unique shading technique, giving it complex and rich notes.
When steeped, its fresh and slightly vegetal liquor adds a touch of umami to the creamy sensation, with floral notes reminiscent of cherry blossoms, among others, leaving a very pleasant sweet sensation on the palate. A grand cru with a lighter and more refreshing taste!
