(Yame, Japan) This famous Sencha tea, Fukamushi type, was awarded the silver prize at the World Tea Union Awards 2023. It comes from the first harvest of spring and is made from the very rare and prized Saemidori cultivar. Handcrafted in limited quantities by the grand master of the renowned Yame garden, even the tea plants were carefully and personally cultivated by him on one of the best mountain slopes in the region.
Its rich green liquor offers notes of umami and creamy vanilla on the palate, evolving into notes of cooked beans, ripe fruits reminiscent of durian among others, then finishing with a sweet touch that leaves a fresh sensation in the mouth - a grand cru worthy of its merit award!
