Root beer is a delicious blend of sassafras and sarsaparilla roots. We have developed our own version in-house and are delighted to share it with you!

These blends were often used for spring or autumn detoxes, with a special emphasis on relieving arthritic joints.
Ingredients: Indian Sarsaparilla (Hemidesmus indicus radix), Jamaican Sarsaparilla (Smilax ornata radix), Mandarin Peel (Citrus reticulata fructus cortex), Sassafras (Sassafras albidum cortex radix), Burdock (Arctium lappa radix), Licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra radix), Dandelion (Taraxacum officinalis radix), Ginger (Zingiber officinalis radix), Star Anise (Illicium verum fructus), Pippali (Piper longum fructus).
Preparation: 50g to make 2L (or 25g to make 1L)
- Place water and roots in a pot and cover.
- Bring to a boil.
- Once boiling, turn off the heat.
- Let macerate, covered, for 2 hours.
- Strain.
- Sweeten to taste (or turn into a syrup) (melt the same amount of sugar as the volume of water (if you have 4 cups of water, dissolve 4 cups of sugar in it)).
- Refrigerate.
Add bubbles, use the syrup to flavor your sparkling water, enjoy it chilled, etc!
