This famous Asamushi-type Sencha tea of "reserve" grade has been handcrafted in limited quantities for hundreds of years and was once reserved only for the nobles and wealthy of the Edo period. Hon Yama is a designation of exceptional quality for teas from the Abe River region and the surrounding high mountains, dating back to the beginning of tea history in Japan in the 13th century.
Smooth on the palate, it offers rich and complex notes of fruit, honey, malt, and a very sweet sensation, with great length on the finish. A grand cru!
