Kyūsu
The Kyūsu is a traditional Japanese teapot, specially designed for brewing and serving green tea, particularly Sencha and Gyokuro. Renowned for its unique design and functionality, this teapot is an essential element of the Japanese tea ceremony and tea culture in general.
Mainly made of ceramic, the Kyūsu is distinguished by its rounded shape, side handle, and spout. The handle, located on the side of the teapot, allows for easy handling and precise pouring of the infused tea. The spout, meanwhile, is designed to prevent drips and facilitate serving.
The interior of the Kyūsu is often equipped with a built-in filter, which retains the tea leaves during preparation. This filter can be made of ceramic, or stainless steel, among other materials.
