(Zhengyan - Wuyishan, Fujian, China) Da Hong Pao is the quintessential tea of Wuyi Mountain. This reserve grade tea, from wild tea trees, comes from the famous Zhengyan wildlife reserve - a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Aged since 2015, time has mellowed its mineral notes and concentrated its juices, which now offer an explosive bouquet, both floral and fruity, when infused. Among other notes, we find walnut, lychee, sugarcane juice, caramel, and honey. It has a beautiful length on the palate with notes that amplify after consumption, leaving a memorable liqueur-like sensation which, coupled with its intoxicating fragrance, forms an unparalleled grand cru.
