CEREMONIAL MATCHA WORKSHOP [FRENCH] June 28

$54.00
1 PERSON - June 28, 2026

DISCOVER THE WORLD OF CEREMONIAL MATCHA TEA
at our ITCRDC tea school,
at CHARYŪ [6872 rue St-Hubert]

Our world-class certified Japanese tea master instructors offer matcha tea training under the banner of the ITCRDC (Institute of Tea and Research & Development Center of Canada). The friendly 3-hour program is both informative and flavorful - for beginners and professionals alike. The content of the training will enable students to acquire above-average knowledge compared to professionals working in the field of matcha tea.

► A certificate of completion and recognition of knowledge will be awarded to you as a professional title: Specialist in the field of matcha tea.

PROGRAM

• ORIGIN, PRODUCTION & BENEFITS
Learn about the origin of Matcha, its benefits and much more. You will then have the opportunity to make matcha powder yourself by grinding Tencha tea leaves using a traditional stone mill and taste it.

• TASTING & ANALYSIS OF QUALITIES, TASTES AND AROMAS
The discovery & tasting part of the workshop will allow you to try as an evaluator 5 matchas (1 barista grade, 1 ceremonial grade, 3 grand cru ceremonial grade) from our exclusive imports. Through the tastings, you will discover the cultivars as well as the world of tastes and aromas of matcha; thus deconstructing the myth that matcha only tastes herbaceous, astringent and marine as found on the general market.

• USE OF DIFFERENT MATCHA QUALITIES, FRESHNESS & CONSERVATION
This part of the program will allow you to better understand the strengths and weaknesses of each matcha quality and their uses. In addition, the secrets that the tea industry does not reveal about the notions of freshness and conservation of matcha will be unveiled to you.

• THE ART OF PREPARING & TASTING CEREMONIAL MATCHA

Finally, you can choose one of the ceremonial matchas tasted. Under our guidance, you will learn how to prepare and drink it ceremonially in Usucha style. A traditional Japanese pastry of the moment will also be served to accompany your matcha.
