(Chiran, Japan) This tea from Chiran (Kagoshima Prefecture) comes from the first spring harvest of the rare "Benifuuki" cultivar. This red-black tea, called Wakoucha, is of premium quality and highly prized in Japan.
When steeped, its reddish liquor offers a unique note of lilac flower, autumn fruits, and citrus. This tea can be unhesitatingly compared to great English and Chinese vintages - a must-try!
