(Wuyishan, Fujian, China) This reserve-grade Da Hong Pao oolong comes from wild tea trees of the famous Rou Gui cultivar; one of the two best-known cultivars of Wuyi Mountain.
When steeped, it offers notes of roasted, woody, nutty, caramel, and an explosive floral and fruity bouquet, with a beautiful round cinnamon "cassia" finish. It has a very long finish with notes that intensify after consumption, leaving a memorable liqueur-like sensation which, coupled with its intoxicating aroma, forms a grand cru!
